Santa Cruz Medical Foundation Vice President Voted Man of the Year
Tom Hart has been Vice President of Medical Services and Development for the Santa Cruz Medical Foundation since December 1987. He has operational responsibilities at the Main Clinic location for Lab, Optical Shop, Diagnostic Imaging Services, Physical Therapy and the Clinic’s 9 other satellite offices located in Aptos, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Watsonville. He was responsible for the development and construction of the Westside, Physical Therapy, Watsonville, Chanticleer, Downtown, Scotts Valley offices and the Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center. Tom is also responsible for assisting the Santa Cruz Medical Clinic with its physician recruitment activity. Prior to December 1897, he was employed by Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital for 11 years. As a Dominican Vice President, he had operational responsibilities for professional ancillary services, quality assurance, risk management, and utilization review. He also fuctioned as planning and construction manager for Dominican Oaks Corporation, the developer of a HUD financed senior congregate care facility and Dominican’s Magnetic Resource Image Center.
Tom was born in Detroit Michigan and is a long suffering fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons. Tom received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1973 and his MBA from Santa Clara University in 1982.
He has been married to his wife, Becky, for 25 years. His family includes a daughter, Nicole and new son-n-law Chris Mercer and two sons Ryan and Nathan.
Tom, Becky and Nathan live in Aptos. Hobbies include gardening, home remodeling, water and snow skiing and golf.
