Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)

To prevent the transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) to healthcare workers and other patients, when coming to Santa Cruz Medical Foundation to be seen for flu-like symptoms, such as

  • Temperature greater than 100.5, or
  • Cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing
                   AND
  • You have recently returned or live with someone who has recently returned from the Far East (China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand), or Canada, please call receptionist prior to your visit or notify the receptionist immediately upon arrival so that an alternative to the regular waiting room can be provided for you. You will be provided with a face mask upon arrival.
