Respiratory Care Week
Respiratory Care Week is celebrated October 24 - October 30, this year. The Respiratory Care team is located in the Cardiopulmonary Dept at the Santa Cruz Medical Foundation. The Department boasts 4 Registered Respiratory Therapists. The main job tasks are threefold. First, the therapists provide Respiratory Therapy using state of the art equipment and protocols. Second, they perform diagnostic cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, and sleep study exams. The third area of care is in the arena of education. Formal Asthma education classes are taught for adults, teens and children and their parents. Educational brochures are also provided, many in Spanish as well as English.
